Baby Boomers Boot Camp
A fresh new concept Boot Camp will begin on Monday, April 20, 2009!  Friends Fitness will introduce “Baby Boomer Boot Camp!”
During my research in fitness I have found that this program is a reality in some areas of the U.S. BBBC results show great accomplishments in fitness with the “45 and up” crowd. It would be completely new to the greater Cincinnati-Dayton region.
The Boomer population is the fastest growing in America. They are healthier and younger than ever before! However, the aging process still has a way of showing up on all of us. Lack of muscle development can be the origin of joint pain.  Muscle mass may be lost at a rate of around 10% a decade causing the metabolism to slow and encouraging fat gain. Loss of muscle mass leaves joints vulnerable as arthritis may be in it’s beginning stages. Research proves that building muscle mass will increase metabolism thereby decreasing stored fat and protecting joints. Research also proves that cardiovascular fitness can be greatly improved in your 40’s and even into your 80’s!
The purpose of this program put more simply……….
Increase Energy
Help you loose weight
Keep you laughing with friends
Make you stronger for everyday tasks
Make you more confident
Improve posture and alleviate back pain.
Decrease appetite
Show that you can do activities you thought lost to you.
Not be bored in a gym!
Workout with others who have similar goals!
These are just a few of the many exciting results of Baby Boomer Boot Camp! If you feel you “fit the bill” for this group please reply or give me a call! If you can think of anyone other than yourself who might love to hear about this opportunity, please pass this on!
Camps will be conducted 3 days per week at 9am and last one hour. The emphasis will be to train this population for greater strength, better bone density, loss of fat, healthier heart, lower blood pressure and relieve stress. Playing together as a group, we will have fun while performing activities in the  “Boot Camp” style that is still the most popular style of fitness for 2008 and into 2009!
Annual Kayak Trip
We look forward to this all year!

“This AM was awesome!!!! Loved the workout.”

“Kim’s Boot Camp in the summer of 2007 was great!! Imagine laying on your back doing crunches and watching the sun come up!! It is certainly a challenge, but one is expected to do one’s “personal” best and there is no sense of competition. I felt stronger and more energetic than I had in years after that camp.”
