Sweet Hungarian paprika gives this creamy braised chicken the best flavor. This is a good “pantry dish” since you should have the basics on hand and only need to purchase the chicken. You may vary the recipe by using cubed veal shoulder instead of chicken and mushrooms instead of peppers.

Running on Supplements May be Running on Empty

This article on SparkPeople today is dead on all my research in nutrition as of late. If processed foods from your grocers shelves isn’t bad enough, the supplement industry would prefer that you pop pills and down shakes all day long rather than eat real food. Multi vitamin? Yes, ok, but supplements are supplements, not staples. I’d like to start pointing out a few of them right now, but I realize some friends use supplements and some sell them. Do some research for yourself independent of the distributor. The jury is still out on the benefits of any of these products and frankly I still mix up a protein shake once in awhile. Tell you what….someone hook me up with some Muscle Milk and I’ll drink one everyday for 30 days measuring my lean body weight before and after. Same workout schedule. The proof will be in the protein pudding.

Your Fitness Feedback!

In order to provide the best possible exercise prescriptions for my clients, please take a few minutes to consider the following questions and comment at the end of this blog! As your trainer, it is my commitment to maintain a connection with each and every one of you considering your personal level of fitness and lifestyle.

 • Which type of activities do you enjoy the most in your Camps/Classes?
 • Which activities do you least enjoy?
 • Are you satisfied with your Camp/Class locations, times and days?
 • Do you receive enough motivation from me, your Trainer, and are you experiencing the level of safe effective exercise that you desire?

I realize your time is valuable, so enough for now!

Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet (I actually looked it up, it’s a footstool) eating her curds and whey. Milk has two primary protein sources, casein and whey. Casein is what we ferment to make cheese, like cottage cheese, so “curds.” Casein represents 87% of the protein in milk and is much more allergenic […]

It always strikes me as funny when a simple report in the medical literature is tweaked and turned to render a “Godzilla is loose” translation to the general public. This happened recently when I received a flood of concerned e-mails from patients and friends regarding the NEW Vitamin D guidelines, stating that high dose vitamin […]

Did you know that 51% of our annual weight gain happens in just a 6-week period? Whether it’s 1, 2 or 10 extra pounds we pack on over the holidays, it turns out it’s not so much how much, but what we do with it (or don’t do with it) that makes holiday weight gain […]
